I'm back with todays card post!  My card(s) today cover 2 challenges.  The 1st challenge is this weeks sketch challenge at Mojo Mondays.  They provided another wonderful sketch.

I chose square to go along with the theme for my notecard set.
My images are from Phindy's Place.  It is difficult to tell from this photo but I did a layer of glaze to give the images a glass looking sheen with clear embossing powder.  I attempted to do cracked glass but to no avail.  Yes it does make a difference what brand of embossing powder you use- Michaels was out of my normal brand so I picked up another. I did 4 coats and still could not get it to crack!  I noticed this powder was much finer than the other brand.  In person it looks very pretty though, with a glassy sheen.
The 2nd challenge I am participating in is this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge which was called a Matching Set. For my matching set I have made 4 gift cards and a card holder.

The giftbox hold 4 cards w/envelopes and can be made up in no time! Super fast, super easy and you can find the template at Stamp Tv.
Thanks for stopping by today and I will see you all tomorrow for another edition of Sunshine Mondays!
The Sweetest Blog Award
Good Sunday afternoon to you all.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Today is gorgeous here-visually speaking.  Is it a nice bright sunny day and the sun is glistening on the ice on the trees and the ice on our snow covered yard.  We got 7 inches of snow between Friday morning and Saturday evening with a mixture of sleet.  It really is very pretty but I haven't ventured out since I arrived home from work on Friday morning! Tennessee is just not accustomed to this kind of weather!

Yesterday morning I awoke with the worse sinus headache, nose swollen, sore throat and just generally feeling lousy. For breakfast I had 2 sinus and headache benadryls with a chaser of theraflu and spent the better part of the day in bed! I hate wasting my weekends that way but fortunately I awoke this morning feeling much better and am spending  my day crafting!

First up today I would like to share this blog award I received from one of my new found blogger friends-Tracy.  I am so fortunate to have Tracy as one of my new design team members for Sunshine & Giggles. Here blog can be found here and it is gorgeous!!
I am to choose 10 things that make me happy and then select 5 bloggers to share this award with.

                           1.  My faith in God and knowing that he will never give me more than I can handle.
                           2.  My husband
                           3.  Jordan- my true gift from God who came to me at age 40.
                           4.  Our good health- we've had our trials but there are those that are much worse off.
                           5.  My parents! At age 47 I know I am very fortunate to still have both my parents.
                           6.  My love for crafting and sharing this with all my blogger friends
                           7.  Blog-hopping and seeing all the creativity out there and learning new techniques
                           8.  Curling up with a really good book
                           9.  talking on the phone (this wouldn't be on my husbands list)
                         10.  laughter- the sound of laughter is truly contagious!

My 5 bloggers to share this with

             1.  Melissa- she was on SAG's 1st design team and was an immense help to me.  She was there with wonderful ideas & inspiration and always a kind word.  I value her as 1 of my 1st blogger friends!
             2.  Stef- a current member of my design team but someone I followed prior to her joining the team. I love her sense of humor as well as her talent.  When I need a laugh I know I can find one on Stef's blog.
             3.  Suzanne Dean- I don't know Suzanne personally but a day doesn't go by without visiting her blog.  She is my biggest enabler!!  She has introduced me to countless techniques and stores!
             4.  Susana- I "met" Susana from Suzanne's blog and love visiting her store & blog. She is one of the nicest people I've met in the blogging world and I just love her store. It has been awhile since I visited-but look out- the tax return will be arriving soon!
            5.  Kat- I love Kat's blog and it has nothing to do with crafting! I love the name- Sunshine & Lemonade! It's about everyday life and the funny spin it can take! Kat has a wonderful sense of humor- as you can tell-that's one thing I really value in a person!  I love reading her entries and also enjoy reading what's on her nightstand. I am always in search of a goood book and go to Kat's site frequently. I am a quiet stalker of her blog.

Thanks to all you ladies that have become a part of my life- wether you know it or not!  You all provide inspiration to me!

Good afternoon....I have a 2nd post for ya today.  I think that must be a first! haha.  I didn't want to miss this weeks challenge at Midnight Madness and I thimk I am in just under the wire.  I loved the sketch this week and I really think I brought on the bling! My cards are usually very simple so this is a lot of bling for me.

I just love this fun image of Mrs. Comfy.  She is one of the wonderful characters over at Phindy's Place.  Phindy's illustrations are so much fun.  I made this little birthday card for a co-worker and Mrs. Comfy actually reminds me of her...but I don't think I will mention that.  I seldom show the inside of my cards but they usually duplicate the sketch and the inside of the cards simply says Party!
I've used Basic Grey dp from the Nook & Pantry collection, assorted ribbon, rub on flowers and gems to accentuate them.  I glazed the ballons and Mrs. Comfy's shawl with diamond glaze.

Thanks for visiting me today and I will see you again tomorrow.

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a better Monday then I am!!  My post is 3 hours later than planned due to technical difficulties.  &^%* Computers!! hehe.  I went to load my photos of todays card and all my drivers were uninstalled.  Then I discovered that my virus program was also not working.  I have spent the last 3 hours working on this blasted computer but I finally have everything up and running.

So now on to happier topics. Today is Sunshine Monday and my card today features Cody & his faithful companion Quest.  No computer worries here...they are enjoying  a great read!  My card today covers 3 challenges and they are:
Sketch Saturday:  they provided this wonderful sketch
Basic Grey:  their challenge is animals and of course basic grey paper- I have used this beautiful paper from the Porcelain collection.
Simon Says Stamps Challenge: their category is Punch It! I've used Martha Stewart, Stampin Up & Nestabilities.

Don't they look like they are having the most relaxed day!  I so envy them.  My image is of course from Sunshine & Giggles Stamps.  Stop by and see all the new items that have been added including the great new Valentine images.

You can also see more great sunshine images by visiting our dt- the gigglers never disappoint!

Thanks for stopping by and may your Monday be filled with Sunshine!

Good morning everyone.  Are you fortunate enough to be off today? I am off today and also took Tuesday and Wednesday off so I have lots of time for play time!!  Today is Monday so you know that means it is Sunshine Monday.  Today over at Sunshine & Giggles Stamps is release day- 4 new Valentine images!!

My card today features one of the valentine images and is called Share the Love- or at least the icecream, hehe.

Don't they look like they are so in love!
This card has lots of layers, which I love and a few different techniques. I am espicially pleased with the outcome of my heart, it just glistens- though it's a bit hard to tell from the photos.  I used the cracked glass technique-without cracking it. I had thought about it but decided it might resemble a broken heart- totally not appropriate for Valentine's day, lol.

The challenges that assisted me were:
Cupcake Craft Challenges: They provided this awesome sketch
Etsy Inspired: each week they feature an item from an Etsy shop-this week's shop is Amethyst Soaps and my heart was inpired by this soap-

The Color Chef: This weeks colors are Black, White, Grey & Red
One Stop Craft Challenge: they want to see fancy edges & corners
Copic Creations:  Ethnic Skin Tones (I still need to work on this-I need more copics!!

Thanks for joining me today and be sure to check out what Sunshine & Giggles DT have in store for you.

Good Sunday afternoon....this is going to be a real quick post. I am running behind yet again and want to get this in for the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. This weeks challenge was to use buttons and ribbon.
For my card I started out using a sketch from paper take weekly and then realized I had really veered off course, haha.  So I will try something else for their challenge.

This is my 1st attempt at an easel card and I must say I am really pleased with the outcome. For my card front I used an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I just love Fairy Tabia. She is colored using my copics. For my ribbon I have used 2 different shades of pink ribbon. Pink is not a color I normally work with so I was very pleased when I found some in my stash.  I have accented the cards with these great little button brads. I picked these up eons ago and this is the first time I've used them.

For my card base I have used an image designed by Joni from Inktegrity Stamps.  This stamp can actually be purchased on Melissa Craig's blog.  All proceeds from the sale of this image are going to a charity named in honor of a little girl who lost her battle with cancer.  You can find all the details on Melissa's blog.

Thanks for stopping by and for those of you that are fortunate to be off tomorrow enjoy your long weekend!

Good afternoon! It is a beautiful bright sunny day here. Ok it's still frigid but I'll take the sun.  Today is just perfect for staying in my room and playing. There's football on so no interuptions from you know who and Jordan is entertaining himself in his room- I just heard him say "no aliens will escape alive!" Star Wars or maybe Transformers- not sure who he is today, haha.

Todays card took me on a little trip down memory lane.  Did you have a favorite book as a child? I had 2,  Miss Suzy and Miss Suzy's Birthday.  Miss Suzy was a squirrel who lived in the cutest tree house. For her birthday she threw herself a party and invited all the animals of the forest.  Well last night while hopping I found the cutest image that made me think of Miss Suzy. I HAD to purchase it right away and I already knew what paper I would use.  Don't you love when that happens!

Does anyone remember this book?  I just loved it!

Paper, image and then off on a search for the perfect sketch.  I decided on this weeks MOJO Monday sketch-love this weeks sketch because I could utilize all my dp.

I  think this image & card have become my new favorites, lol.  Isn't my Miss Suzy the cutest!? Ok she's not actually a squirrel but a mouse but she is still too cute.

This little image can be found at Phindy's Place.  She has some really great digital images.

Supplies used: Bazzil cardstock, dp is called Little Sprout Collection and I think it is by Blue Moon, orange gemstones, computer generated sentiment and my image is colored with copics.
I also used my scallop circles nestabilities and my Martha Stewart lace punch.

I am also entering my card in this weeks Cute Card Thursday. There theme is anything new- so that covers my cute new image!
This was also my younger sister's favorite book as a child.  When her children were young she tried finding this book but it was no longer in  print.  Well I did a search today- don't you love your computer- and I found it!!  Because of so many requests for this book they put it back in production in 2004. I've purchased 2!!  One for my sister for her birthday (in September-whohoo I'll be on time this year) and one for Jordan (ok it's really for me but you can use your children for excuses, hehe)
Thanks for joining me today on my little trip down memory lane- hope I haven't bored you to tears!

Tuesday Morning Sketches
Good Saturday afternoon everyone.  Well we are still in a deep freeze here in TN and it is still snowing!  This is so unusual for us and I'm not liking it! I left Northern NY to get away from the white stuff, hehe. Oh well they say only a few more days and then we should be back into the 40's.

For my card today I tried a new technique.  Ok...it's a new technique for me but I'm sure most of you have already tried it- cracked glass. What a fun and super easy way to give your images a vintage look.  If you are not familiar with the technique & want to try it go to Stamp TV.  Gina has a whole list of episodes with some really great tutorials.

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Melissa always provides the best sketches.  Here is this weeks sketch:

And here is my card:

Close up view:

Now you may be asking your self what's with all the glitter-well the last time I used my clear embossing powder I was also using silver glitter...well I inadvertantly scooped up the glitter and put it in the embossing powder jar instead of the glitter jar...but I don't think it looks to bad here, haha. The whole look of the card is quite stunning in person.

My little teapot and cup & saucer were purchased at phindy's place.  I just recently discovered her and she has some really great images.  I will be back later this week with a really fun little image I also got at phindy's.  As you can tell no dp for this card but I used 3 different embossing folders and 1 little button accent.  My images were colored with my copics and sponged with SU night of navy ink.

Well I am now off to a WII party- will tell you more about that later.

If you have arrived here from Stef's blog then you are on the right track, if not you will really want to start at the beginning at Janet's blog.

Ok so you know that Cody is an avid reader with a very active imagination.  He has given his globe a spin and is off on his first adventure.  Where are Cody, The World Renowned Explorer, and his faithful companion Quest off to????

SCOTLAND!

And no trip to Scotland would be complete without taking in a round of golf.  Cody's first friend on his journey is Angus the Golfer.

Isn't he a cutie in his tradional knickers and vest .  My sketch used is from this weeks challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

Cody's next stop on his journey is to the Highland Games-another must see for anyone heading to Scotland.
There Cody meets his new friend Roddy the Piper.

I just love this little guy! His kilt and part of his bagpipe have been paper pieced in this great tartan paper.  The sketch was provided by this weeks challenge over at Friday Sketchers.

Next Cody & Quest are off for a little boating trip on Loch Ness. Why Loch Ness, you ask?
Well to find the ever elusive Loch Ness monster Nessie of  course- and guess what they found her!  She is adorable!

This sketch is for this weeks challenge over at Papertake Weekly.

January 1st, 2010

Good afternoon everyone! I hope this brand new year is off to a good start for you!  Did you all make it until Midnight?  We didn't, hahaha.  I have been on antibiotics for the last 3 days fighting an infection in my jaw -TMJ, as well as taking pain killers so I was out pretty early, lol.

Hubby is in the kitchen this afternoon making his annual new years dinner- ham, scalloped potatoes, fried cabbage and black eyed peas...yum, yum.  The fried cabbage & black-eyed peas are a southern traditon...and I must say this yankee really enjoys them!

I have spent most of the afternoon blog-hopping and have noticed that several blogs have featured the best of 2009.  So not to be outdone, hahaha, I decided to do the same. It was quite fun looking back over the last year- and also quite surprising- I had 2 months where I had only 1 post-yikes!  That will definitely have to be one of the things I change this year.
So here we go.....

January Dieter- (my annual new year's resolution)

February Rocker

March-Ready for Spring

April-

May-  Retro Joe

June-Hoops

July- Pool Time

August- Fresh Cotton-

September- Spooky
