Sunday is almost gone...so sad. Another week to face. Isn't it sad when you live for weekends, lol. I spent part of my weekend working on 2 cards for the Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call. They are my absolute favorite line of stamps. I know my chances are probably minimal but will go ahead & post my 2 entries. I am blown away by the beautiful work that people do! I've gone through my recent postings to review my "style" and I guess you can say it is minimal. I just hate covering up great design paper with embellishments!

Katharina has provided a great sketch for the challenge-

I have used 2 stamps from the Spring set which I absolutely love! I am so glad they included a boy in the set. So I will start with my 1st card which is Oakley sitting on the tree stump. I just think Oakley is so cute. I found this dp at the local scrapbook store and knew it was meant for him. All the dp is from the line called Finlay's Estate by Cloud9 Designs. I love their paper. Card stock is stampin Up, as is the sentiment, and the leaves are from prima. No flowers for this boy, lol.

My second card is also from the spring set. Isn't she pretty- I think she is my favorite. All the card stock is bazzil and I have no idea who the sentiment stamp is from- I've had it for years. The little oyster baubles are by http://www.stampingbella.com/. The little swirls around her are rub ons by Heida Grace.

Well that is it for today. Good luck to all those that are entering this design challenge. If you haven't entered but would like to you can fing the info here.
Hope everyone has a great week.

Happy Tuesday...just a quick post before I head out the door to work. I have a little card I made
for my baby who is turning 6 tomorrow. This card is for the cute card Thurdsay challenge which was a theme this week- music & dance. My cute little rock star is from Pollycraft. I ordered a bunch of their download stamps over the weekend and just love them.

I colored my image with copics and cut out. Cut my star using my cricut. The star dp is from flair designs. The sentiment stamp is from stampin up and I used a stampin up punch to cut it out. I used a gold metalic pen to outline my sentiment. My little musical notes are brads I've had in my stash forever. I knew I would find a use for them!

Well that is it! Off to work.

Hi...well my long weekend is just about over. It was a good one though. I spent most of today playing with my new toys. I have finally purchased a cuttlebug and LOVE it!! I've been drooling over the great cards I've seen with the nestibilities and the embossings and can now finally join in the fun, lol. I also purchased some new pollycraft stamps and love them. I be showcasing those in the next few days, lol.

My card today is for 2 challenges- Magnolia vs Stampavie, and the challenge was a color challenge. The 2nd challenge was the sketch challenge from Friday Sketchers. I love the choice of colors and actually was able to incorporate them all.

This was a great sketch-definitely one I will use again. I used my farmer tilda and colored her using my copics. My dp is from cloud9designs- I love all their new papers! The floral dp is called floral sunrise and the polka dot is sunrise smoothie- yummy! I got to play with my build a brad from stampin up. These are great! Love them.

My flowers were made using my cricut. And I also used my new cuttlebug to emboss my olive green paper. So easy! I don't know what took me so long to get one of these. I couldn't pass it up as it was on sale at Michaels for 50% off. Bonus!

I incorporated all 4 colors inside my card with a few more little flowers.
That is it for today. Now I must get to reading- I have my bookclub next week and still haven't started this months selection!
Take care,
Janice

Photo Well the day has finally arrived!! What an amazing response. I had so much fun reading everyone's comments and visiting all the great blogs out there!! I really never expected to get 233 entries, so, in honor of that I am adding 4 additional little prizes.
My winner of thegrand prize is Jolt from Edmonton, Canada! Congrats. In addition to the grand prize, and due to the overwhelming response, I've decided to add 4 little runner up prizes. And the winners are: Peggy Alborn, Sharon Schutt, Ann of Creative Antics, and Anonymous- aka Cheri. I will be e-mailing each of you. Congratulations!

This great event is- One World, One Heart and is hosted by Lisa Swifka, it is a world wide giveaway with a chance to meet and visit blogs from all over the world. I only learned of this event today but knew I wanted to take part.
My giveaway is open for everyone World Wide. I was originally going to make it open only to bloggers but decided that everyone should be eligible. If you don't have a blog be sure to leave an e-mail address so you can be contacted if you win. It will run today, January 19 and end on Febuary 12, 2009. I will select 1 winner at random and post on Febuary 13th.

What is One World-One Heart? Her is how Lisa describes it-
The giveaway portion is like hosting an open house......as if we were all living in this gigantic neighborhood where once a year we visit homes to meet, reacquaint and get to know one another. At each home there are samplings of goodies that you have a chance to take home like a door prize. You leave your name and at some point each home choses a winner or winners......and now you not only have met a new "neighbor" and you've seen where they live.....you have something that someone lovingly chose to give..... AND visa versa.
My blog is an expression of who I am reflected through my craft projects. I also have a fondness for literature, love great quotes and inspirational messages and home decor and have found a way to combine both in my business with Uppercase Living. For those of you not familiar with Uppercase Living they offer expressions in vinyl lettering for application to your walls, mirrors, wood items, etc, etc.
My giveaway will include the following: 6 pre-drilled panels of heavy weight chipboard, 1 pkg of trimming ribbon, includes 3 yards of 11/2" wide ribbon in chocolate brown, creme and black, 1 cast iron medallion to hang your finished product, 2 pkgs of gerbera daisies, one in white/honey wheat, and one in chocolate creme, 1 pkg of gems-12 self adhesive, clear gems in 3 diameters, and the word FAITH in 4.5" letters in chocolate brown.

Whew! It's also most Friday. I am counting the hours, lol. This has been a very hectic week.

Tonight after helping with homework I had to decorate Jordan's mailbox for his "friendship" party tomorrow. There's no school on Friday so his class is celebrating Valentine's tomorrow. Glad we got those cards done on the weekend!
I put together a little valentine gift for his teacher- actually a gift for the classroom. I love these glass craft blocks-they're so versatile. I made it so the opening is in the top for easy access. The vinyll expression is from Uppercase Living. They have some really cute expressions for teachers and this is the one Jordan picked out.

Then all I had to do was fill it with crayons. A kindergarten class can never have too many crayons, ya know! This glass block holds 240 of them!! I certainly hope we won't need to purchase anymore this school year.

I also managed to get in 1 card tonight. It was a real quick one-very simple design but I am
please with the look. This is for Kraftin Kimmie's challenge-which was to make a card using an animal stamp and ric-rac.

I've had this scottie stamp and punch forever but I still love them! They're both from Mary Engelbreit.
And that is it for today...I'm off to bed.

Happy Tuesday Everyone- I have yet another Valentine card for ya.
I must say I really like this little "stamp". This was donated by Paula of Pollycraft Designs, as a free download. Thanks Paula!! You can find the download on her blog. I must admit that I don't yet own any of their stamps but they are definitely on my current wish list. They are sooo cute!!

The card I've made actually cover a couple of challenges- the Pollycraft challenge #8- which is Love themed and the Mojo Monday challenge which provided a really fun sketch.

The background dp is by K & Co. and is a pale pink but actually a little bolder than what it appears in this photo. The heart dp is by Sassafrasslass and my heart ribbon is American Craft. I was actually able to find a little heart shaped button in my stash- I love when things fall into place, lol.

That is all for now- must get back to work, shhh.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was able to make it in to my scrapbook room today for more than just playing on the computer, lol. I actually made 3 cards today for 3 challenges and for a gift. I am making a set of 12 note cards for my sister-in-law. Here are 3 of the 12 (the 3 I have completed!). I'm making them in colors that I think she will like. She's a big fan of MacKenzie-Childs so I'm trying to use colors in the way they do.

My 1st challenge was for Friday Sketchers. Claudia did an awesome sketch and I really enjoyed working with it.
I love this black & white dp...it's by tinkeringinc.com. The yellow embossed paper is called Sunshine Smoothie and is by Cloud9Design. They have some great new paper out. I picked up quite a bit of it this weekend. My bowl of lemons is a Karen Lockhart stamp-love them!! The just a note sentiment stamp is from the CC Designs Boutique Sentiments set that I purchased from All That Scraps. I used the ovaL/stripe stamp and punch from Stampin Up. All cardstock is from Stampin Up.

My 2nd challenge was for Sketch Saturday and was another great sketch.

I used the same Karen Lockhart stamp and all the same dp for this card.

My final card was done for a challenge being hosted by Kimmie on her blog. She has 5 challenges going on right now and this was for challenge 1-which I got in right under the wire, lol. I am a big admirer of her blog and her wonderful work. She provided a sketch and the requirement that you use embossing somewhere on your card. Luckily I had this embossed card stock. I still don't have a machine but after seeing everyone's work I am definitely in the market for one soon!

Again, I used the same card stock, dp and stamps.

Well that is it for today...alot of pictures to scroll through! I have one more card to make using these papers so I will have to be on the lookout for another great sketch.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week.
