This is covering the following challenges:

Happy SUNSHINE MONDAY to you all!  It is a beautiful sunny day here and I am off ALL week. Yeah!!
Jordan is on spring break this week so I took the week off. Time to get the spring cleaning done-yuck. I got the kitchen done on Saturaday and today I am doing my craft room. The plan is to get it painted, shelving up and organized by the end of the week!!!

My card today is for, of course, Sunshine Monday for Sunshine & Giggle Stamps.  I am getting a late start but I found the best sketch on Mojo Monday for my card today.  I have used the Little Guardian Angel digital image for my card.  Here is mojo's sketch:

I opted for the square card.
Supplies Used: Stampin Up Cardstock, K&Co DP for the background panels, Stampin Station Tropical Florals for the circle and strip down the center, American Craft ribbon and the flowers & ribbon slider in cream pearls is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  My image was colored with copics. I also used my MS lace punch and my scalloped circle nesties.
Be sure to check my side bar for the links to Sunshine's DT to see what they have for sunshine Monday.

I will be back later today- yes a 2nd post!! I will have my card for the Midnight Madness challenge.

Hope you have a sunshine filled day!

Good Monday Morning...let's hope this week goes by quick as I am off all next week! Yeah.  I have plans next week of cleaning my scraproom and painting.  Let's home they pan out.  I hate painting but it really needs refurbishing and I want to put up some shelving and really organize my space.  If you could see the look of it today you would be amazed that I am able to get anything done at all.  It's a MESS!

Today brings another edition of Sunshine Monday for Sunshine and Giggles Stamps- at least in the card arena.  We are getting rain and they're even calling for a rain/snow mix!   For todays card I am using an image from the valentine line but the card is actually an anniversary card.  The image is called Sharing the love and can be found here.  It's covering a few challenges that I will list at the bottom of my post.

Supplies Used:  Cardstock-Stampin Up, Dp- Cloud Nine, Sunshine & Giggles Image, Computer Generated Sentiment, and Copics. Very minimal- not 1 embellishment, unless you count the hearts- they were done with my cricut.

Challenges:
Friday Sketchers- provided the great sketch, lotsa layers
Cute Card Thursday: An Anniversary Card
Copic Creations: Favorite Technique- I selected faces/skin

Now be sure to visit the Sunshine girls to see what they have going on today.  You can find all the links on my sidebar.

Happy day to you!

Tuesday March 16, 2010

Good morning. This is going to be a real quick post- lots to do. My card today is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and I must say I almost threw in the towel on this one, lol.  Well, once I decided what paper to use and cut out my little pieces it went together pretty easily.
Here is this weeks sketch:

Told you it was a tricky one!!

Here is my card:
I really wish I had a ligth box.  This card looks so much better in person but I think you can get the idea. You can click the image to enlarge and read all the little snippets. All my squares are from the same sheet of dp by K&Co. and I just love it! Beautiful images and beautiful sentiments.
Supplies Used:
The Miss You sentiment & bird stamps are both from Creating Stamp Kit club and were stamped using Stampin Up Soft Suede. My clock and key embellishments are from 7 gypsies, the flower & leaf is from Wild Orchid Craft, the dp is by Melissa Francis and the cardstock is both Stampin Up & Bazzil. I distressed the edges to give it a vintage look.

Can't wait to see what the design team has done with this sketch.  Sneak peaks are fun but definitely put you at a disadvantage!! LOL  Well that is it for me today. Have a wonderful day.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Well this weekend certainly flew by and I was barely at home.  I much prefer those quiet weekends when we are at home with nothing to do- with me in my craft room. LOL I must be getting old.

Yesterday we had boyscouts and it was Jordan's 1st Pinewood Derby.  He didn't place & wasn't happy about. I can't believe how competetive these kids are!  His father & I were just thrilled that the wheels didn't fall off- there were a few cars that had mishaps but Jordan's held up, much to the surprise of his father. lol  Here are some of the cars- Jordan's car is the red one with the firebird emblem. Check out the spiderman car- way too creative!!
Ok today I have a card for Sunshine & Giggles Sunshine Monday.  With all the green challenges out there this week I thought I would keep the St. Patty's day theme going.  Ok it's really not necessarily for St. Patty's day but does involve something Irish.

This is the image called Shannon & the Dance.  I just love this little image.
Supplies used:  Cardstock from Stampin Up, DP-Basic Grey Origins Pad, sewing, ribbon, flowers & leaves from the Wild Orchid Crafts, copics.
My card today is also covering several challenges:
Friday Sketchers- the wonderful sketch I've followed
Stamp Something:  Green & Cream
Our Creative Corner: color challenge, greeen, yellow, pink & brown (my image)

Be sure to see what Giggles DT has in store for your sunshiney Monday.  Their links can be found on my sidebar.  Hope you have a great Monday.
Janice.

Yippee TGIF!!  This has been one long week.  Any big plans for the weekend?  I had wanted to get to the movies this weekend but don't think I'll be able to fit it in.  We work the last Saturday of every quarter and it's that time again...ugh. Sunday morning we have Jordan's pinewood derby for cub scouts.  I don't know whose idea it was to do it on a Sunday morning but anyway we are very excited.  He put the finishing touches on it tonight- it's covered bumper to bumper with rub-ons! LOL

I have 2 cards today for the challenge on Cath's blog Moxie Fab World.  The challenge is called Diggin' on Doilies and Lace and I almost passed it up because I didn't think I had the necessary supplies but then I decided to dig through my stash and found the lace which I think definitely qualifies. Then I found this sheet of dp in my stash and thought it had a kinda doilie/lacy look to it. Gorgeous paper but no name so I'm not sure who to credit.  Here is the 1st card for the challenge.
My dragon fly stamp is from Susana's store and was actually a freebie she gave with one of my orders.  I heat embossed it in seafoam white and then inked it with a q-tip using regal rose from Stampin up.  All cardstock and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. I accented the dragon fly with a white pearl that I colored with my Stampin Up markers.
Card #2 for the challenge:
I think this card actually is much better because the lace has become the focal point along with the butterflies which coordinate well with this lace.  My butterflies are rubber stamps from Lockwood and Co. that I, again, heat embossed in the seafoam white.  I just love this shade of white!! My sentiment is from Stampin Up and the irridescent accents are stickers from Stampendous.
Amazing what you can find in your stash when you are challenged!  Glad I didn't pass this one up.  It was a fun challenge and quite different from what I normally do. Thanks for having a look and enjoy your weekend!!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Good morning!  Well this is a quick post as I am running late...oh well Saturday ever get here!  Actually, I will have no reprieve on Saturday either-off to work.  I really hate quarter end, haha.  Sunday morning we have the Pinewood Derby race to attend so no sleeping in Sunday either.

My card today was a quite a challenge for me.  This is the first time using my copics to color black objects.  I was lacking one shade that I think would have improved the over all look- it's on my wish list now.  After it was all colored I still found it a little flat looking so I coated (couple of coats) with diamond glaze to give it a little shine. Not bad.

Supplies Used:  Copic & Stampin Up markers
Cardstock-Stampin Up
Dp- Heidi Grace Designs
Ribbon, Sticker Sentiment
Black rose & leaf- Wild Orchid
Image is from Sassy Studio Designs

There you have it.  I happy with the layout but will need to practice coloring in black.  What do you think of that black rose!?  Isn't it gorgeous.  My order came this week and I have a beautiful load of flowers, yeah!
I love all the Alice in Wonderland images that are popping up and Sassy has some really cute ones.

Ok now for the challenges- I've got a few I am covering with this one.
Friday Sketchers- with this awesome layout
Stamp Something - something Girlie
Frosted Design- Favorite Technique- sewing for me
Etsy Inspired Challenge- this week they are featuring theFantasy Art of Maigan Lynn-and this piece of artwork inspired my card:
Ok I am off to work-have a wonderful day!

Happy Tuesday to ya!  I have been on a card making roll, lol.  Anytime I can get more than 2 days a week in my scrap room is a good thing.  Today's card is a male themed card.  I know alot of people dread the male card but I actually kind of enjoy them.  Todays card is representive of a typical Sunday in our house- at least during football season, haha.  I am playing along with a couple of challenges and the sketch is this weeks Midnight Madness sketch.  Their sketches can be a real challenge but I am pretty happy with my outcome-especially since I am using the sneak peak so no inspiration (stealing) from the design team this week!
Here is this weeks sketch:

Here is my card:

So what do ya think? Does it somewhat resemble a football field?  I asked Jordan (my 7 yr old and the only one in the house in the evenings) if he knew what it was and he said "nope".  That was before I added the numbers for the yard lines- his idea, then it became pretty good to him, lol.  My very fun image is from Phindy's Place and is called Mr. Brown Goes Surfing, lmbo! I just love this image.

Supplies used:
Card stock Stampin Up, Bazzil, B&W dp by Best Creation Inc., bottle cap, computer generated sentiment.
referree shirt was found on a website that sells them, sized picture, printed on cardstock & cut out, brads w/ribbon, white gel pen.

Ok now for a few challenges:
Midnight Madness - Sketch
All Sorts of Challenge - Just For Men
A Spoon Full of Sugar- recycled, I think my bottle cap covers that one

See you back here tomorrow- I'll have 2 cards for you for the Moxie Fab World challenge.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Good morning - So how was everyone's weekend?  Ours was very quiet.  We were going to go see Alice in Wonderland this weekend but decided to wait until next weekend when it's a little quieter.  I'm quite anxious to see that cute little Mad Hatter, though.  I'm sure Johnny Depp will be fabulous.

We're back with another edition of Sunshine Mondays, where we like to ink up our Sunshine & Giggles stamps.  This week I have used the image called Lucky charm.  My card this week is also covering a few challenges that I will list at the bottom of this post.

Aren't they both cute!
Supplies used: Cardstock is all Stampin Up,
Gold beads are by Paper Studio (I think),
paper is byReminisce
Ribbon
clover charm

Sketch Saturday- they provided the awesome sketch!
A Spoon Full of Sugar- they want to see beads this week.
Cute Card Thursday- they want to see green.
Paper Jewels- this month's challenge was inspired by a blog called Bling It On and your card inspiration must come from a piece of jewelry on the site- I chose this piece for obvious reasons- St. Patricks day, and color scheme of blue & green.

Be sure to check out our Design Team's blogs to see what sunshine they are adding to our Monday-they never disappoint.  You can find the links on my sidebar.  Enjoy your week!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Good morning everyone and welcome to this weeks Sunshine Monday  Tuesday, lol.
Sunshine & Giggles is proud to be sponsoring this weeks Midnight Madness challenge. And anyone who visits my blog regularly knows this is one of my favorite challenges. I had decided to play along with this sketch and saw the sneak peak but honestly was at a loss.

I really didn't want butterflies or flowers and was at a bit of a loss so I decided I would use just a few brads to go along with my theme and I also have my dp following the direction of the butterflies seen here.

This will be the perfect thank you for Jordan's teacher at the end of the year- now I just have to remember where I put it, lol.  I wanted a very vintage feel for this card and this dp is perfect!! I just love Daisy D's paper. The background dp has a cork board look that I really but I can't tell you who it's by. All my cute little brads came from Oriental Trading.

You can see me homework stick better in this photo. These stick pins are very long so I had to make a card large enough to accomadate it, haha.  This card is size A7 which I have never tried before.  I will have to try to find envelopes in this size now.
Well thanks for joining me today and do check out what the dt at Midnight Madness has done this week.  Just incredible!  Also, you can visit the Sunshine gals too -they may have just played along too! The Sunshine DT link can be found on my side bar.
Hope you all have a fabulous day!

March 1, 2010

Happy Monday to you all.  Normally this is the time for Sunshine Monday, however, Sunshine & Giggles is sponsoring this weeks Midnight Madness challenge so I will be playing along with them and will have my Sunshine card for you tomorrow.  And speaking of Midnight Madness one of my cards today is for last weeks challenge but first I thought I would share some thank you cards I've made.

Last week was my baby's 7th birthday and he had a Star Wars themed birthday party. His invitation had to have something from Star Wars but for his thank you I found the cutest digital image from a company called Wink, Wink Ink.  It still goes along with that whole space theme thing.  I had intended this card to go along with Mojo Monday's sketch challenge but realized I had veered way off course.  This is my first hinged circular card. So easy but so time consuming when you have to put together 6 of them!

Isn't he just the cutest little alien!! Do you know how many sites I looked at before I found him, LOL!  I found a forum by Karen Pullen and she lists several digital stamp companies and that is how I found Wink, Wink Ink.  What a very useful tool.
You can find her forum here.  This image is called, appropriately, little green man. I colored him with my copics and used my white gel pen on his eyes. I purchased this dp eons ago and have no idea who it is by as it's not marked but it goes great with our
theme.

Ok now for my sketch challenge.  This card contains another first for me- Flower Soft.  I just love the look and it's relatively easy to use. As I said the sketch was provided by Midnight Madness.

So how do you decide what papers you will use?  I designed my whole color scheme around the large green button on my card.  I came across it in my bag of buttons while looking for yellow buttons and decided to leave it out.  It was perfect for this weeks sketch design.

Isn't that a great button! It came from one of the big bags from Foofala and I actually found papers in my stash that were a perfect match. I don't know who they are by-again not marked but all cardstock is from Bazill.  I accented my pieces by sewing around the edges. My stamp is from Lockhart Co.  This is th first time I inked it up and I love it!  The flowers in this stamp are actually tulips but I thought I would give my flower soft a try.  I love the dimension it adds.

What a cheery little window on another cold winter day!
Be sure to join me tomorrow as I join in on another Midnight Madness challenge.
